Good Evening, FS Warriors! I know I haven't been on here for a while. It's not that I'm backsliding, I've just been busy or otherwise. :) Whatever the heck that means! Well, I got through my Leadership Summit, it was interesting, nothing revolutionary, but not grueling either. Then I had a lot to catch up on when I got back to work. We are in the middle of performance evaluations, and that is a time when I can't afford to neglect giving all I've got. I pulled a muscle in the lower left part of my back, and it has been really bothering me. Normall, I would just run anyway. I ran the 6 hard miles Friday, but it aggravated the heck out of my back, so I decided not to run the slow and easy 10 miles today. My half marathon is not until April, and I would rather compromise some of the training today, and possibly run a little slower in April than to run while I'm hurting, and take a chance on taking myself out of the game entirely. I like to run, and I want to run that half marathon, but anything I do from this day forward doesn't determine who I am; my character and integrity are pretty well established and I am who I am, regardless of what I am able to accomplish from here on out.
I got my trailer and tractor tires back, and installed them today. That didn't hurt nearly as much as climbing up into the truck and scooting across the seat. I guess it's the twisting and pulling that make me want to bit down on a stick or something. The family doctor has been trying to get me in to have a regular checkup, so I guess now is as good a time as any.
Tonight, DW made ribs, with beats and some kind of rice concoction. I decided to try a merlot we had bought previously - Oak Leaf Merlot wine. One of the cheapest we have ever bought; but let me tell you, I think it was one of the smoothest Merlots I have drank. I am ashamed to say that I drank the whole bottle. I guess I wanted to see how well it did as a pain killer, and I have to confess - not bad. About as good as Tylenol, but tasted a whole lot better. Seriously, I don't know whether we got it at CVS or Aldi's, but I think it was one of the better merlots I have ever drank - or drunk; how about consumed? Haha. I know, what a lush! A bottle is only a obout 3 glasses, but who's counting. I've got nobody to impress; it tasted good, took some of the pain away, and I'm hoping it will make me sleep good. I'm not running and jarring my back until I see some improvement.
Went over to the church when I got done installing the tires. Ran through the songs on my own. Weather was overcast and even a little drizzly, but it was warm enough for just shirt sleeves if you kept moving around. It was great; I only regretted I couldn't or wouldn't move a lot of heavy stuff because of the back problem. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that things are going well, and I haven't forgotten you. Luv you all! Toodles!
