Emotional binging is so discouraging... and the worst part is is that I don't even want to. I just grab the closest food to me and eat my heart out. Hopefully I can stop this awful cycle at some point. Ugh. :c

Wow. I was just going through the exact same thought processes. Feeling really down and disappointed with myself that i allowed my bad feelings to get the better of me and just binge eat. I think we both need to get back on track! Hang in there Winterish, and smile. The sun will be out soon enough... :-)

Maybe post a note on your fridge:"WHY am I eating?" then when you answer the question take appropriate action to correct it. Example if you're eating because you're upset, put the food away & address the reason you are upset.Bored? Do something you havent done in awhile, like read a book,go for a walk.Eventually taking care of the reasons we eat when we aren't really hungry stops the emotional eating.I have this problem too.

Thank you both. It means a lot to see encouragement and even great suggestions! I'm going to do my best to reason against mindless eating and get towards my goals. ^^

I used to be a binge eater (big time) when I was younger. Same thing, didn't want to but felt I didn't have any control over it. This book helped change things for me : "Eating in the Light of the Moon; How Women Can Transform Their Relationship with Food Through Myths, Metaphors, and Storytelling" - by Anita Johnston. It helped me to focus on myself rather than the food, and any underlying issues of why I was binge eating. I was able to gradually stop the cycle And my life changed for the better. I wish u luck in this. I know how debilitating it can be. Sending lots of love and support.

I know it's hard to refrain from binging (Even I have a bad habit of over-eating), but it will get better, with good effort. For me, motivation is helping me, and also just drinking water instead of a snack. I also talk to myself from time to time (My rare mentality, sorry lol) to tell me to stop me from binging, but you don't have to do that :) I have faith that you will get to your goal Emily, and I wish you the best of luck, YOU CAN DO THIS ^_^
