timetodropthelbs's Journal, 13 March 2022

Another FS member (I can't remember who) posted a picture of the book "Burn" and I spent a bunch of time last night watching interviews with the author and reading reviews to get an abridged understanding of his thesis. Basically, exercise isn't correlated to weight loss because our metabolisms stay static. Only eating less calories works. Exercise is really, really good for you still. I honestly can't wrap my mind around this, mostly because I always like to think I can eat a few more calories on days that I work out, but I guess that's not actually how it works? I'm going to have to buy the book and actually read it to understand. 🙃
163.8 lb Lost so far: 4.2 lb.    Still to go: 18.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Diet Calendar Entry for 13 March 2022:

I just requested this from my library. I’m going to check it out too. I can’t help but think it’s just a fad to sell books but I’ll read it.

I think the title is the most fad-like part about the book. Most of the negative reviews said "It's not a diet book like the title and description imply!" I think the diet advice is just eat healthy, unprocessed foods and less to lose weight. I'm just really interested in learning about how metabolism works. It seems so mysterious.
