All right buddies. I am sodium ignorant. I do not eat a lot of processed foods, but when I do oh boy! I had a feeling about the zatarains..which is a pisser cause the calories arent too bad. I just had a stupid little slice of roast beedf from the deli and entered it...best estimation on similarity, and jeeez!!! Is anything under 1500 freakin milagrams? I gave up half a bowl of my damn split peas soup for the same reason.
I am definitly cutting calories, kickin ass on water consumption, ....whats worse, more cals or more sodium?
Any good, low sodium grub that you all recommend? (Besidees fruits and veggies...I eat a lot of those! ) Cant wait for the feedback!

Out of curiosity, Mike, have you edited your preferences on your food diary to track sodium? Whole foods are the way to go, but tracking the sodium will tell everything. 2300mg per day was the recommended amount, but it's recently been changed to 1500mg for many people. Heather

I'm no help here. I love salt. Eat lots. Love it. And still have abnormally low sodium blood levels. Go figure. Lol. It is tough. Anything packaged, like soup will have lots of sodium. Look for low sodium soups. That will help. But I think overall don't eat too little put of fear of salt. Eat! If you have a higher than you'd like sodium day, know that the scale may show some water retention, and go with it, keep at it, its just water, not fat, so you're still burning fat.

Mike, I brought up the sodium because you seemed to be worried about your weight up and I noticed you had high sodium the last few days that were possibly making you retain water. If you are upping your water intake you should flush well. On most all processed foods they are required to list sodium on the package. With the Zateran, it is like FS one serving is what is listed on the box. If you have 2 you have doubled your sodium intake. If you have one serving it isn't so bad and you also reduced your calories. I'd say just be moderate with the salt. Don't get freakishly obsessed. Try not to salt shake, switch to no salt, and you should be ok. We can't avoid all salt. If you don't have high blood pressure, there is a pretty good chance your body is processing well and if you are just aware and try to watch the extra salt you should be ok. I bet you are gaining muscle and that is making your weight stay or increase. Because you are doing super great on calories. Helewis is right if you edit to track sodium you can see your soduim and if you make a high sodium choice you know to moderate next time. Or balance. Sodium is so hard to keep low in our society. Even veggies have natural sodium. I eat out at mexican one a week. I guarantee the sodium in my fajitas sends my sodium into space, but I know that and try to just drink lots of water and do a good exercise where I sweat it out the next day:)
