Thank you all, it's only been 26 days since the first blue line, so I won't declare victory yet. I seem to be able to keep a fairly balanced diet with some food I like, hopefully it will become a habit with time. For now I still weigh and measure everything to keep track and avoid excesses as much as possible. Thanks everybody for the support, it really helps to be able to be in contact with others who have similar preoccupations.

buenitabishop, you'll be there soon if you keep at it and don't get discouraged. I was losing 0.4 lb per day on average, that's 146 lbs in a year. Several here have achieved that without starving themselves. Just keep at it, measure and log everything, don't lie to yourself and don't be alarmed by the occasional 2-pound bumps on the road.

Oh Eral, oh wise one, 🙇♀️ now that you are maintaining, what’s your opinion on creating a weight buffer? Some wiggle room. Hopefully I will see the blue line soon 🤞🏼and I’m wondering this for myself, with the approaching holidays.

Hey eral, I definitely agree with what you said “don’t lie to yourself” that’s the worse thing a person can do 👍

YG, this is totally new to me, I never ever checked my weight before, so I certainly have no wise advice. I set a goal using several calculators that I could find online, weight, BMI, body fat, see my intro for links. I know that I can easily gain 5 pounds in a weekend without even trying and that it takes me at least 10 days to fully recover from that. Therefore, I would like to try to keep a low mark at 2-3 lbs below the goal but not much more since goal + 5 lbs would give me a still fairly reasonable 21 BMI. I am by temperament much more ant than grasshopper or cicada.

SM, I don't know why we're so childish. It's way too easy to think: "I'll just sneak in a handful of m&m's, no one will know".

Thanks E for your reply!! Im thinking that’s wise for myself, if I ever reach the blue line…. 🐢▶️ 🐌, just so I don’t drive myself batty over the # on the scale 🤪
I agree with you and 🦸🏻♂️, what’s the point in lying 🤷♀️, you are only jeopardizing your progress
