Noraneko's Journal, 13 March 2011

I have been trying to eat clean and keep my head as the nuclear situation develops.

But....I did cave just a little (proud of myself that it was just a little, not a hell of a lot) when we went to the store.

The shelves at the stores are bare, but we were looking around, and there was a tiny, 32 g Haagen Dazs Creme Brulee container, completely passed over by Japanese people. I decided to buy it (I recorded it as whatever I could find with similar content) and I must say that I enjoyed the hell out of it. =)

We have lots of veggies and fruit and water and tea stored up. So, I think we are good to go. I am surprised that I have to go into work tomorrow, but at least I will be able to get good information from my coworkers.

-------edit -----

I posted a new picture - it is of locals waiting calmly in a very long line to get into a supermarket. We are low on supplies, but we are OK. If you are a praying kind, please please pray for the prefecture (state) of Miyagi. Sendai is its capitol city, and I bet I am there a couple times each month. It is cold here, and lots and lots of people are without power, heat, food or their loved ones, looking out on their covered cities. It is a much sadder, bigger deal than the nuclear reactor. Take care everyone. <3
