Donated blood yesterday, so had to have a fig newton and cranberry juice afterwards. But what I also found out, that there are many health benefits, primarily cardiovascular benefits and reduced risk of acute heart attack for people regularly donating blood, 2-4 times per year. This is especially true in man, as women already loose blood every month. You can Google for several peer reviewed research papers on the subject or check out this link that pretty much references all these studies. In addition, you save about 3 lives with each donation and feel good about it.
