Shrinking Sonya's Journal, 09 March 2011

I had a BAD week the past week. One bad eating choice led to days of bad eating choices. Fortunately it hit me like a ton of bricks yesterday that I was screwing myself out of the success I'd already achieved. Thankfully, I straightened up after hitting rock bottom and having a ham, egg & cheese croissan'wich from Burger King. Once I entered the calories and came to the realization that I was sabatoging myself, I stopped. Had a very light lunch to compensate (grapes and water lol... I wasn't even hungry anyway from such a gigantic breakfast!) and a healthy dinner. This morning I started off right with some sugar free oatmeal and whole wheat toast.

Its safe to say that if I stop recording all my food, I've already started slipping. I'm not going to enter the weight I was yesterday, because I'm not going to accept defeat from a couple days of bad choices. Next week I will be back to 274 or maybe even below :).

PS. Someone PLEASE tell me how to eat healthy foods and NOT get constipated because nothing I try seems to work (more fiber, less fiber if I'm getting too much, fresh fruit, prunes, more leafy greens, etc.) I want to be regular. I've even tried taking probiotics and the make-you-regular-yogurt lol. Think I should see a DR? My average is 3-4 days at a time without going, and when I do it's difficult/painful. Let me know if you have some suggestions.

Are you drinking plenty of water? I guess I don't have a problem with going, but I don't know how often I go. I guess I should "note" it, just to see. I would add some water and maybe some warm green tea (coffee helps me too). Good job getting back on track. I did that the week before (and I don't journal either when I get off track). I managed to lose everything I gained and then some by the time last week ended. Of course, when I got back on track, I barely got 1200 calories in (and some days it was less), but I didn't starve myself. I just didn't snack and concentrated on eating the best meals I could. You can do it!!!

You'll get back on track in no time!! Like you said, don't give up because of a few bad choices. It happens to everyone. Like the other comment above, water is pretty crucial to regular BM. I have started recording my water intake on here. Of course it doesn't change anything as far as Cal, Prot, Fat, etc. but it helps me keep track of how much I am drinking. So far I have averaged only about 92 oz a day. I'm supposed to have some insane amout like 115oz, but I find I can't stay out of the bathroom long enought to get any work done or sleep. LOL. Also, really try to keep your diet regular. I wouldn't fluctuate with the types of foods you eat all the time. Stick with it for two weeks or so. You would be amazed at how long all the trashy foods stay in your system and continue to clog you up. Speaking from loads of experience. Yes, definitely see a doctor about your issue and about your exercise and weight loss. Its very motivating and they can make sure there is nothing else wrong with your system that is hindering your progress. It will get better. Don't worry. :) You're doing great!

The only thing I have found that works is to drink plenty of water (I drink anywhere between 64 and 100 oz of day), working out regularly and eating plenty tons of healthy carbs like fruits and beans and stuff.
