Is 140 lbs okay for a 14 year old girl who is 5'5 or is that still too heavy?

If you aren't happy with how you look, seriously consider weight training. You can build muscle and look leaner without having to lose weight. Seriously wish someone had told me that at 14. I weigh about 5 lbs more than high school but look so much better since I started working out. If there is any way you get to a gym and work with a trainer, just for a short time, it will make the world of difference. You will look leaner and feel amazing.

that depends if you're a body builder then maybe not if you are not a body builder then maybe yes there are a lot of websites out there that will help you answer your question my rule of thumb is: can I grab a handful of fat anywhere on my body...if the answer is yes then it's time to slim down

if you are only 14 you need to tell your parent you would like to talk to your dr and get his opinion. You are still growing and need lots of energy. Don't get weightloss advice from people you dont know on a website.

Hi. What you have to remember is you are 14, and this is a time in your life for enjoying your youth with school, friends and family. "Dieting" and being overly concerned about the food you put in your mouth can put a dark shadow over fun times. Believe me I speak from more experience than I care to remember. If you feel strongly about wt loss and being healthy then your FIRST step will talking with your parents, and getting an appointment with the dr. If your Dr. decides you need to loose wt. then it will be a food plan for you and monitored. As a teenager you are still growing. Your bones, muscles and above all your brain is still growing and NEEDS ALL the nutrients the foods you eat provides. DON't screw with that. Then if you want an online support group find one that is for teenagers, or even one that has a group for teenagers. Your lifes journey can be an exciting one. Make lots of memories and take lots of pictures. Jane
