Oh man, I've been backed up in the worst way since my birthday 10 days ago. Only just now feeling relief. But, of course, it's after 11 am and I've already weighed in this morning around 7.

I've literally eaten out every day of the last week. I've either been taken out for a birthday celebration, brought food, or bought food. Food has to be a drug. I've started craving food like chicken wings and fries. Last night, it was a struggle to go home and cook. But I'm cooking this weekend, I've got money, I've got time to go to the farmer's market (the problem last Saturday).

The coffee at work is disgusting yet magical. I wish I had drank it earlier in the week, but I've got it in me now. My belly thanks it for the relief it brings. #thatisall

I can relate to you in that I'll lose some weight, go & stay at my sister's where they eat out all the time, game the weight back + five, & come home depressed, trying to lose double what I went there for. At home, I hardly ever go out to eat, but I've been helping to take care of my great-nephews & nieces. When I stay at my sister's home to help, I can't diet. And now I'm back at the top, 20 lbs over where I was just a few months ago. I've gotta start logging the calories. I've heard that when you eat something like fries, full-fat ice cream, fried chicken, etc., it sets up something similar to an addiction for the next 72 hrs. Your body will crave these fatty items for the 72 hrs. I'm trying to use this as motivation to not eat these things. Have you tried Crystal Lite with Energy or Boost? Has caffeine in the drinks & no calories.

No, I haven't tried that. I drink the strong coffee at work because it makes me go usually. Hmmmm, a 72-hour addiction to the fatty restaurant food you say - I believe it. My home cooking is so much better and I prefer to feel real hunger over a craving any day. But they got me. I can't wait to restock my fridge with fresh fruits and veggies!

Don't know if y'all know about Sarah Fergeson, the Duchess of York. She's been up & down for years with her weight, & the media just tore her apart, calling her Duchess of Pork. She was on Oprah a yr ago or so, trying to figure out the real reason behind her self-abuse. Anyway, she just lost 40 lbs by exercise & using specialized teas made for her by a friend (they might make them for the public because she's being asked so much about the teas). The teas are all different flavors to substitute for a lot of the desserts that she loved. I can't do the exercise due to pain issues, but that's why I'm trying the Crystal Lite/Kroger teas. Kroger has Morning Boost that tastes just like orange juice with caffeine & I use 2 little packets, making one tall cup, similar to the large cups I get at a fast food restaurant. Then fill it with ice, & it lasts me a couple of hrs, along with a cup of water. Then for dinner, I do the same, two small packets of Kroger Yumberry to make a large cup plus I always have a cup of water handy to drink once I'm done with the Yumberry. In the pitcher, in the frig, I made Crystal Lite Peach Tea with Green Tea & Mango. This has caffeine in it, but if you want a nice tea for dinner without caffeine, Kroger or Crystal Lite Peach Tea is so good, not too strong. If you like the strong Hawaiian Punch, get the Punch drink. It's awesome. Drink enough to fill yourself up. I have acid reflux, so I have to drink slow. For food, my hubs has been getting watermelon, melon, apples. He cuts them into chunks, so all I have to do is put these in a bowl. I've also become hooked on the little tangerines. Kroger sells an entire bag for around $2.99. They are so small that I'll have 3 or 4 of them. I'll try to wait until dinner to eat my next meal. If I can't, I'll have lite yogurt & a banana. For dinner, egg whites & a western bagel (at Walmart - 240 Cal & 9 gr of fiber). Or veggie burger with baked potato. Thanks for the encouragement y'all.

So, are you just consuming your teas and water, eating fruits and veggies all day, then a real meal at dinner? I'd never make it, honestly, I'd pass out during my training :-D You are a strong person!

Eating wisely at restaurants is SO hard. Even when you try to choose something healthy, it isn't always prepared that way. Fried chicken is one of my favorites but even when not I'm not dieting I only eat it twice a year. Baked chicken is a pretty acceptable alternative. We can have new favorites when making choices that is good TO us over what tastes great. If this is too much of a sacrifice, you might as well quit dieting now, you aren't ready to do this. But something tells me you are "all that" and this time will be your final successful diet attempt. You go gurl!

I have fruit for brunch & then an early dinner + a snack in about an hr after dinner. It ain't easy, that's for sure. After dinner, I try drinking ice cold water with lemon. I'm not doing so hot these days. And I so want to lose. It's just that I have to delay eating as long as I can or I'll be eating all day. Sounds like you have a good plan. Stay with it.

I am back from visiting my folks & eating ice cream every night. I plan to get on the scales next week sometime. Too scared to look. Wasn't able to stick to a starving diet because I kept my great nephew & niece & preparing meals for them made me hungry. Tomorrow is another day.
