SunikaN's Journal, 13 March 2014

In January 2013 I started with a 50 Day No Sugar Challenge. I had to keep my sugar intake per day, including fruit and other foods, to below 30g a day. No processed foods with more than 5g/100g of sugar under nutritional value. Even though I had lost 3.8kg on the first one and another 3kg (after gaining a little on the sugar binge that ensued after the 50 days) on the second one, I didn't feel healthy. I needed more to push me and I needed more nutritional information.

I started doing Bikram Yoga and joined www.sleekgeek.co.za last year May. I did the 30 day Reboot detox (www.sleekgeek.co.za/reboot). It basically encompasses 30 days of no grains, no alcohol, no white potatoes, no dairy products and no legumes. Even though the detox was bloody difficult, I was sick most of the time and I only lost just short of 4kg on the first 30 day cycle, I finally found what makes my body happy. On day 28 it was like I woke up and the sun shone for the first time! I had energy and I felt so good! I started following the Paleo way of eating but was constantly still looking for better ways to increase my nutrition and feed my body what is best for it - even on a tight budget. I stopped counting calories all together and instead started focussing on what my body needed.

By December 2013 I had lost 13kg and was feeling myself again. Comfortable in my size 12 clothes. But still I was looking for more. That's when I stumbled upon 360XBT. Sound nutritional advice, great workout plans and support that is unsurpassed. I'm learning something new regarding food every day and I love my new journey. I was slow to start and only 2 months into the program did I actually start the Reset and stuck to it. I'm now nearly half way and my adjusted goal weight of 68kg is actually within reach. I'm hoping to be there by the end of March. :)

I'm always still learning, looking for new things, adjusting my eating. We've made small changes, like grass-fed free-range beef instead of the hormone packed stuff you get in the supermarkets these days. Free range chickens - I will soon move over to free roaming chickens, but they're so huge it's difficult to imagine them even fitting into my oven. Haha! I grow my own veg and if I can I guy organic. Raw dairy, raw honey, raw as much as I can in fact.

Food should heal you and grow you, not kill you.
