new beginnings2014 's Journal, 22 February 2014

Today is Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014. I'm starting a very healthy diet to start and eat low calorie, and high protein which I need 60-75 grams a day. My goal is to do some kind of work activity around the house daily or 10-15 minutes on the treadmill. I have an appointment on March 4th to see the gastric surgeon to get the sleeve surgery.

How about making the treadmill thing a game with yourself? First day do 10. Then next day 11, next day 12, and so on. You will feel good about improving each day and before you know it you'll be walking "all over the place" It's kind of easy because you only have to do "one more minute". I play this game with consecutive jumps on a pogo stick (I'm a little weird) but would not recommend that to anybody who doesn't have really really good balance. I'm up to 27 hops in a row. But at the beginning I "flew" across the driveway and almost hit a tree, and then almost hit my car! However you go about it, best of luck. I know you can do it!

Thank you and yeah I want to do that but I really need to start out slow. I can't start out every day like I would want to but I will start out like that 10 then 11 and up. Good idea thank you.

I love Cindy's idea! I might even start slower, like 5 minutes the first day. Cindy, I'm stealing your idea and going to try it tonight at the gym. Thanks!

P.S. I think the bypass will be great. I considered it myself when I had the good insurance, but I didn't and there are times I regret it, but for your situation, it might be just the thing.

Yes, I need the surgery it will really help and since I have the insurance I should get it. Its going to be a rough start after the surgery but I'm starting the food now and eating small portions. Chewing the food to be like mashed potatoes and eating slowly. Today is my first day starting this and man so far so good but I'm starving.
