mrsbarker's Journal, 04 February 2009

Well my husband came home back in November and from then until now it is an understatement to say that I fell off the wagon. I have gained quite a bit since Thanksgiving, but I am sort of back on track this week. I have not been getting all of my good health guidelines in, but I am following points and have used all of my weekly points as well as the majority of the activity points I earned from us moving this weekend. It is Wednesday and I weigh in on Saturdays, so I only have today, tomorrow and Friday to try my hardest to hang on. I have five activity points left to cushion me and I am going to attempt to get back in the gym tonight, so hopefully that will give me even more of a cushion. Once I start following points, it usually takes me a good two to three weeks to get used to the plan again, so here's to week one! :)

I am going to try to journal at least once a week when I weigh in, but I am hoping for more than that. I want to work my way to daily journals so that I can really be accountable. I had such a good run of losses before Josh came home and I have decided it is time to learn how to control myself when he is here. He is finally getting shore duty within the next couple of months, so now is the time to figure this out. There will be no more deployments for the next three years for me to rely on to lose all of the weight. No more excuses to postpone. He is home now and I am so thankful for that.

Over the next couple of months until he gets his orders he will be in and out for a couple of weeks here and there, so it will be challenging to cook for just me and then for both of us, but I need to learn to adjust. I know I can do it, I just need to get the will power to do it. He is definitely helping me out this time though.

I made the commitment to stay away from the super unhealthy fast food places and I am sticking to places where I know I can control myself. I am able to go to Panda Express for the Mandarin Chicken, Beef w/ Broccoli and Chow Mein, Subway for any of the healthy sandwiches with 6g of fat or less, Taco Bell for soft tacos or bean burritos, Rubios for the Chopped Chicken Salad, Health Mex Burrito or Street Tacos and Boudin Bakery for the Clam Chowder or Tender Roast Beef Sandwich. I also stopped drinking all sodas and started drinking strictly water and milk. I am doing this through the end of February to see how much it will effect my weight loss. Hopefully it will help. It has in the past, so I am sure it will now! I told Josh I wanted Rubios last night and he told me no because he is helping me keep track of my points and knew I didn't have enough to get something filling for dinner. He was stern and stood his ground and that helped out so much. Not that it was super healthy or anything, but I went home and had a can of Spaghetti O's instead. Haha...they are so tasty to me and I have loved them since I was a kid. :) So anyway...enough blabbing for now! I am back and hanging on! :)

Getting back on the "wagon" is what counts!! If you just stay off, it can only get worse! So, welcome back on the Wagon, Girl!!
