Okay, I CHEATED! I've been doing Atkins for over 2 weeks, and with all the problems I've had this week, I threw my hands up last night. I ate General Tso's chicken. I do not feel guilty. I've learned a lesson. I felt tremendously awful after eating it, and still didn't feel that great this morning. So lesson learned! I think my focus was off due to taking care of my other problem. But today, I will exercise more and get back on track. Hopefully this won't hurt me too bad. I have decided to weigh myself until this Sunday. I'm sure they wouldn't tell me anything I don't already know. Anyone have any experiences with how ketosis is affected after cheating on Atkins?

It's good that you realized the mishap and faced it. Life happens and no one is 100% perfect, 100% of the time! You'll be fine. I'm proud of you for admitting your faults... that took courage and you went ahead and put it out there. Keep trying, that's what counts!!! =)

You didn't cheat too badly it might not affect the weight loss too much. I was given sugar tea the other day, kind of had to drink it after it was handed to me by a friend. These things slow the weight loss but if you don't do it every other day you will still lose! :)

I dont think cheating will hurt you. It might even help you! My granny lost over 100 poundson Atkins a few years ago. And when i was on it in 2007 and stalled a few times she told me to cheat one day. It kind of jump started my body into loosing again.lol So dont feel to bad it might help!

Thanks y'all! I've been cleaning like a mad woman! Doing crunches, and even push-ups as extras. Hope It'll help get me back into ketosis. *fingers crossed*

It's not what you do once in a while, it's what you do every day that matters. Keep on keepin' on.

JuliG is so right!!! Don't worry about one slip up in two weeks!! But next time you'll realize how bad it makes you feel...and a funny thing starts to happen...you start not wanting those things so bad. It might have kicked you out of ketosis, but it probably won't take you more than a day to get back into it. It isn't like you need to "flush" your body again. Just get back on and you'll be fine.

Thanks so much everyone! I've used those test strips, and if they are accurate, I didn't even go out of ketosis. Almost though. And JuliG, you're right. My boys ate pizza last night, and I wasn't even interested. =)

The chiropractor has me taking Betacol to clean out my liver. He promises it won't bother my dieting. Just wondering if anyone has ever taken this, or knows if it will hinder weight loss. Thanks!

Raych, cleaning the liver usually makes you feel really great -- more energizeed. Since the liver filters the toxins from your blood, getting the toxins OUT of your liver and out of your body makes the liver more effective in cleaning remaining toxins out of your blood. It should help your weight loss if anything. There is a natural way of doing this also -- milk thistle. It increases the livers natural secretions so it cleans itself better.

Raych: I think it is ironic and funny that you and Dana both had chinese on the same day. Haha. I bet it tasted good, and it is not something you are doing every day-- so, I understand you cheat. JuliG was right when talking about daily stuff.
