Lately, I have been feeling so down about myself and what I look like. I hate it! I hate that i let myself get so fat. And sadly, my bad habits are now falling onto my daughter who at 11 weighs 139.5 pounds and al I can do is blame myself. I don't want to hurt her feelings because bringing it up only upsets her, but i don't want her to struggle like I have for so many years. I want her to join a gym and go with me, but she is too young from what I am told. She has asthma so sending her outside is not that simple. I want to buy an elliptical for home, but just don't have the money right now. I want her to have opportunities that I never had because I was the "fat girl" and if we don't fix this soon, I am so worried of what will happen.

I can only blame myself... there is no one else who allowed this to happen. She doesn't know any better...her eating habits followed mine...

On a better note... I did very good today with my eating and came in under my calorie goal!! Just gotta keep this up! It helped that I have been sick the past few days and haven't been able to eat much... that is always a good diet boost! Now, if only I could give up the soda when I am at home! I must drink more water...

If she cant workout outdoors and you dont have the cash for exercise equipment right now, then I recommend trying leslie sansone's walking workout dvds. They sell it in walmart, target, etc. its not just walking in place like it sounds, its a great workout and easy enough that your 11yr old can do it with you! The one that is called 5 Really Big Miles is nice because you can chose how many miles to do and which ones if you have a remote for your dvd player so you can do a quick 10 minute workout or do a longer one when you have more time. In my household family tree of 6 (4 kids, me, and hubby)... There are 4 skinny "sticks" and then there is me and my 3rd child... We are the big "logs" in the house. He has already told me that he partly blames me for his weight.... And he is right. My other kids that are not around me as much are skinny. he is my best bud we are together alot, and here I have been sabotaging his health, shame on me!! But now I am going to be the reason he becomes thin and healthy!!! Now that I am making positive changes, my whole family is already benefitting, especially him. We NEVER had salad in the house because I hated it. Now (for the last 2 weeks) I make a salad everynight to go along with dinner. To my surprise everyone in the family loves it. Who would have guessed it?!? I used to take heaping portions of dinner for myself and then eat seconds... My son copied me. Now I use a smaller plate and gently encourage him to do the same. He and I are together alot compared to my other kids who are busy with sports and friends. We used to stop at fast food places for "in between meal snacks" now if I stop there I get a side salad and one for my son. he protested and sulked at 1st because we looove fries and burgers, but now he'll say mom can we stop and get a side salad from burger king. cans of soda are always in stock at my house. My son and I only drank diet coke but now that we stopped stocking it in the house... We drink bottled water and diet iced tea. He also loves poweraid. Anyhow, whatever path you take, definitely take charge of your daughter's situation. When I talk to my son about losing weight I dont say hey you need to workout with me because you are becoming a fat blob like me, I just tell him I really need a workout buddy and I decided its going to be you. Im sure your daughter will enjoy working out if she knows its to help her mom out.... Plus it is a great way to bond! Best wishes for both of you!!!
