Tim Huffman's Journal, 19 January 2014

I felt good on the treadmill yesterday so I put in an hour at 6 mph. After that and some hourse cleaning we made it out to grab some wings as a cheat day. I scarfed down more than my share. Now it's back to the program. This week I plan to add a fast day along with High and low carb days during the week.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

It's good to stay focused while giving yourself a little wiggle room. :) Keep up the good work!

A little cheat is from time to time won't kill you....but its so much better after your hour workout!! Good job! I tend to not give myself a cheat "Day" I try to just make it a cheat "meal"...works for me.....wings is one of my favorite cheat meals too...yum! :) Sounds like you are on a good plan week by week adding different things! Happy Sunday to you as well.

What is the benefit of the high carb day? Just curious.

2ManyCurves, My hope is that when I have "High" and "Low" Carb days that I will keep my metabolism cranking and keep my body from adjusting to eating the same thing every day. I plan to keep my calories flat and just limit my carbs on low carb days. I'll try to really stick close to the plan and let you know how it goes.

Draglist, I'm aware of the zones but have really never paid much attention to them. I run often, but haven't worn my heart monitor in some time. The speed is very comfortable, I would guess my heartrate to be around 150-170 throughout. I think fat burning is around 120 and I just never feel like I"m putting enough in nor do I get a good sweat. I think its from all the Football I played growing up and most likely in my head. I do worry about burning into emergency carbs and even into muscle loss. I plan to increase my calories once I get closer to my goal weight to hopefully off set muscle loss. Some friends and I are running a marathon in June and training for that will start Feb. 18th. I'll have to switch a lot up with my diet once I get a couple of weeks into it. Really appreciate your help and support!
