I had lost a lot of weight a while ago and looked at myself in dismay, noticing I was working on going PAST the heaviest I was before my last diet. That's when I decided it was time to make a change. I had been successful on the Atkins diet but all I was doing was adapting comfort foods I could endulge in without feeling guilty. I'm not dong that this time. I'm getting myself off this addiction to food. I'm eating wholesome, colorful ingredients that are as close to their natural form as possible. I'm exercising! I'm even starting to LOVE to sweat. And guess what? I've lost 5 lbs in the first week. I haven't done anything extreme. I just got off my ass for 30 minutes every day and got my heart rate up. I was smarter about my choices and ate food that was good for me and FILLING!

Right now I am enjoying a blackened chicken salad with honey mustard and some carrot sticks with hummus. It's perfect because it takes me a while to eat the lettuce. I can't just scarf it down. I am giving my body time to give me the signals that I am full. I am feeling really optimistic about this!
