DairyKing's Journal, 12 January 2014

Well, I guess I'm still not very disciplined about logging and journaling. I'm still fighting this cold. I've been taking the probiotics and eating yogurt once a day. I guess this stuff just has to run it's course. To think this all started with clearing brush with shorts on, just makes me want to elect myself as the idiot of the year!

Just saw on the news a couple days ago that the Food and Drug Administration has determined that SENSA doesn't work and ordered the company to pay back millions to their customers. I guess you can't "Shake, shake, shake" your way to slimness after all. Let's see, they probably made a billion in profits, and they have to pay back millions. The company stands behind their product. They can't lose any way you cut it. Why wouldn't a company take the risk of lying about their products? The funny thing to me is why the FDA singled them out. There are so many others that claim that you don't have to change your lifestyle or eating habits at all to lose the weight. What a great country!

Getting a little more strength back each day. Not strength training or doing any walking or running yet, but it's coming. Weight is back up. I guess the only thing I've gained from this ordeal is learning how stupid I was. I guess I've always done things in a big way, even if it was the wrong thing.

Can't wait to get back to work on the old Chevy, get the kitchen/family room done, go to the shooting range, build the master bathroom and walk-in closet, install the endless pool, work on the motorcycles, etc. Things are not looking good for the half-marathon again this year . . . but maybe another 5K. One step at a time. Well anyway, here's hoping everyone has a better year this year. Toodles!

Oh my... I am worn out hearing all you are planning to do. Just get yourself back up to snuff. The marathon will always be there next year. You are not stupid, DK ... just stubborn. LOL! We find we are all invincible ... and it sucks. Take care of yourself and keep coming back. We miss you. :)

One step at a time, seems a sensible way forward... I think that may be hard for you, judging by your list of 'things to do/achieve'. BUT, you really must ease up on yourself. Hope your recovery speeds up x

Now don't go hog wild with that list of yours...that alone is a big one...Take it slow buddy or you will get too tired and have a set back...I'm sure 2014 will be a good one for you as well...Hugs..:O)

There will always be someone selling snake oil! Maybe if the government spent a little extra educating citizens on the benefits of "real food"? Probably won't happen in my lifetime.

So true DK... Our government is the same... If they do go down the 'education' route, it is usually outdated rubbish. People on FS are more knowledgeable - because we are determined and research.

I wonder how long it takes to get these steroids out of your system. I know I'm not eating any more than I was, and the weight has been climbing. Guess I had better make a date with the treadmill. Might have to install pullup bars so I can pull myself up on it. Starting to get antsy anyway.

The steroids will definitely cause weight gain... but isn't it mostly muscle? ;)

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking - it's all muscle. Good one, Sandy! :)
