Well I had an up and down day today - I stepped on the scale this morning and despite going without a significant amount of sleep since Friday, I have indeed lost weight. Then life happened, my son was bitten by a dog yesterday evening and it was decided he was not in need of Dr. Attention at the time. (My son is actually my step-son and we have joint custody)When he came home last night we were told what had happened and decided to monitor the situation - one of the bite areas looked slightly reddened to me this morning so I told my son before taking him to school that he should call me if he was in any pain - an hour later I received a call (Of course I hadn't eaten breakfast yet) we decided to take him in the Dr. and my day from then on was a little crazy. We ended up going to Elias Brothers to eat and I ordered the soup & salad buffet. AND I made some bad choices...grrrr!!! I had the small plate with four items: applesauce, cottage cheese, broccoli salad & pasta salad w/pepperoni and 2 cups of cabbage soup. Now I'm feeling even worse I figured out by searching the internet I basically consumed 890 Calories in one sitting...I guess I knew the pasta salad was bad but everything else I thought wasn't too bad - next time I'm sticking to a basic actual salad and the cabbage soup which comes in at only 34 calories a cup. But the other thing driving me nuts is that I cannot log my calories into the Diet Calendar cuz I don't know all of the ingredients nutrition information and honestly I do not have the time to search it all down.. The good news, When I got on the scale this morning it was 9 lbs less than when I started last week....

Ball Parking is a good idea...for example I had some soup the other day made from winter garden veggies..I knew it had cream and was delicious...Couldnt find the exact soup but picked a cream of aspargus ..I am finding as long as I keep my calories consistantly between my R.D.I. of 1200 to 1700 calories and exercise my body will lose weight. Although 890 calories is a lot for one meal keeping within your R.D.I. is doable for the day and that way you don't have to feel bad. Wow..you sure needed a pick me up after all of that. I hope your son is doing well and that you get some good rest as that too is an important key to taking care of yourself:) Towanda!!!!
