On a low carb diet it is important to have a high fat intake. Cococnut oil is good because it is medium chain and processes like glucose. I actually make a coconut oil, cinannom blend with red pepper. Because I am a low sodium diet, I don't use salt. but if you don't have a problem with salt you could also use. The take 1 teaspoon when you have craving. Also, before meals.

Thanks for the advice. I just purchased coconut oil for my skin, so I will include it in my fat intake as well.
How do you use the coconut, cinnamon, red pepper blend?

I make the blend to taste about a couple of cups at a time, blend add cinnamon about 1 teaspon and red pepper to taste. I eat the blend straight, 1 teapsoon for snacks. 1 tablespoon before meals.

That sounds amazing. I am not crazy about the taste of coconut oil, but with cinnamon it would be better.

Both Cinnamon and red pepper increases metabolism. So does tumeric but I haven't used it. I also put some stevia sweetener in the blend. It had done away with cravings. http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/spices-that-help-boost-your-metabolism.html
