Strength to you Maggie! As long as you are not willing to quit then all is good! :)
Just one thing I thought I should mention. Fruit juice usually has little fruit fiber which would otherwise prevent a lot of the sugar in the fruit to be absorbed. What's more, usually only one cup of fruit juice is made of several pieces of fruit and containing all the sugar on all of them. It's very easy to drink a glass of orange juice for example and that is equivalent to eating like 4 or 5 oranges with the added problem of most the sugar on those oranges being absorbed because of the absence of fiber.
It's always better to eat the fruits themselves than fruit juice because of this because you will usually be satiated with 1 or 2 oranges (for example) at most (because of the fiber)
These are not simple carbs but the sugar can still raise our glicemia (especially in the form of juice) and it will also still account for many calories. I just thought I should say this :) It's wonderful to eat fruit, despite the fact that it has carbs (complex ones). Fruits have antioxidants that have many beneficial properties, will fight off cancer and make you generally healthier overall but be careful with fruit juice. :)
I feel your pain! It's definitely horrible not to be able to eat the foods we want when we want. But I some take comfort in knowing that our tastes somehow adjust with time to the foods that are not so tasty for us at first. I usually try to think of junk food as poison. That usually helps. It's not that far from the truth lol. I still want to eat it but it helps lol. Strength to you!
