redwinelover's Journal, 28 December 2010

Things have been way out of control with me. I've forgotten what real, healthy. food tastes like! Does that happen to anyone else? So used to eating sweets/junk food that REAL food doesn't seem appealing? That's where I am and why I froze the rest of the fudge. Cookies are gone... Life must get back to normal! I know my weight is up- two or three days ago I was 125 and pretty sure it's higher still. So today the plan is 1200 calories and to try to make those 1200 calories healthy foods. I don't like feeling this way - out of control, scared and disappointed in myself.

I think I will walk to the park today. Did that yesterday and didn't get tired. I'm essentially stuck at home except for walking. My husband's car broke down yesterday and towed home. He's afraid the engine blew, but will have to tear into it to know. Don't know how long this will take, how many weekends will have to be devoted to fixing the car, how many days I'll be stuck at home. Not a good thing when food is calling my name! Well, he's going to WA tomorrow for a couple days and coming home new year's eve, so I'll have my truck for several days. It's always something, isn't it? And for us, it usually comes on the heels of spending lots of money! Well, things will work out- they always do in the end.

RWL, yes that does happen to me....after indulging in the sweets, the good stuff doesn't sound so good, the only thing that I really want is more sweets! Stick with it and in a day or so that will pass! Sorry that the car broke down, we have the same problem with the van right now, and it is sitting in the driveway waiting for the temps and time to fix it. Fuel pump! Blech! Oh well we still have the car, it just doesn't go in the snow quite as well. lol Have fun with your walk!

I like Junebug's water purification idea too. The junk food is always easier to get to while the healthy meals one has to prepare and they often take hours. I have the same problem lots of junk these days and little exercise to boot. Again, I agree... you're the best! Good night buddy.

I go through some phases like that Redwinelover and no worries it passes by itself if you just let it go. I get scared too especially now but sometimes I think its our own fault IE... If I tell myself its ok to just eat healthy and not worry I tend to eat way more then I need too BUT if I keep myself under a short leash most of time and under some sort of flexible diet I have a better chance of staying lean if not leaner in long term because the goal of staying lean is always my #1 priority... This may seem as selfish but even with clients I coach this seems to be the best practice most people can take to stay lean year round even during Christmas. This Christmas has been different for me... More food, more family and I am above 180 pounds which makes me feel very heavy but having a strict backup plan to get myself in gear is key and as hard as it may be sometimes when the tough get going we need to stray away from the so called healthy and do something drastic to lose those pounds... Not saying starve but what I am saying is to buckle down and really think about what you want look like. I have found after my surgery the above has become more true then ever before... Junebug has the right idea I myself have started a tweaked up version a bodybuilding diet velocity diet to get me down to mid 175 again. Body weight is like seasons for me... I am often leanest and lightest during summer months and like to have a bit more on me during the colder months. This helps me stay on track consistently, enjoy my food for good portion of the year while still staying lean. I have a motive that goes like this.... "The blander my food tastes the leaner and the better I look naked" LOL. Once the Christmas and New Years food lessens and eventually goes away my weight starts to drop, water first, glycogen second then the fat loss happens. No need to be alarmed unless your really force feeding yourself at each meal. Keep up the great work Redwinelover

Glad that you're walking though. As we do more exercise, body gets better in balance and you'll have less craving for sweets. I had lots of sweets during Christmas and I'm back to more exercise now with less craving for sweets. Not sure how long you walk daily or how fast. You can see in the exercise chart how much calories you burn each walk you do or you can even try two walks a day after meal time. No matter how things are going, don't get mad at yourself, rwl.. You're too beautiful to be mad at.. Have a great Wednesday:)
