Well, I faltered for the holidays worse than I thought I would. I think all of the alcohol got to me in the end! I drank a bottle of merlot, half a bottle of hot sex, and half a pint of rum on New Year's Eve. That's SOOO not like me. The last time I had even had a drink was in February of '08!

After that, it just all seemed to go downhill. I packed on 12 lbs in like a week. UGH.. I know it isn't all permenant weight because it went on so fast, but it was frustrating nonetheless to go from 224 to 236 in like a week!

Today's weigh in was 233. That's down 3 lbs since last Saturday, so I know I'm headed in the right direction. The slip ups just hit me hard I guess.

See, when I first started on my journey, I didn't have a gain in like 6 months. I had a loss EVERY week for 6 months straight, so having a gain was hard when it happened. Now, it just seems to happen to often. I know it was the holidays and the unnecessary temptations, but it still threw me off for a while.

I'm back to eating right and positive thinking again today though. One day at a time gets me where I need to be, right? RIGHT!

I actually got on the treadmill today. I only did half a mile, but it was something. I haven't been on my treadmill in like 2+ months.. since well before the holiday season started. I had pulled a groin muscle back in October, so it was probably around then that I stopped. Yikes! Anyway, I want to get back to doing it at least 5 days a week. Even a mile a day would be better than what I have going on right now which is basically nothing. I get so bored on the treadmill though. One of my friends said that I could use the ab lounger she has at her house. I'm thinking if I can walk a mile on the treadmill then do the ab lounger for 10-20 minutes, I'll be getting my exercise and toning in.. My stomach and sides really need the most work!

Eating should be pretty good today. I actually went get Chinese last night and was proud of myself for only eating half of the massive portion I fixed for myself! I guess I'll have the rest today for lunch. I'm making chicken and sausage okra gumbo tonight! YUMMM! I've been craving a good okra gumbo. The last 2 gumbos I had were cooked by others and neither had okra. *sigh* Okra has a bad rap! It's really quite good if cooked properly.
