I was sitting snuggling my warm mug of coffee and watching the snow birds in the bushes in front of my windows. I have two bushes, evergreen (they also vine?), that grow directly in front of my windows so that I don't need curtains.
Apparently, the leaves on the bushes hold in the warmth from the wall of the house, and there are, literally, hundreds of birds there at all times.
I have put my bird feeders in the bushes and I have this wonderful show all winter. Right now I have cardinals, several kinds of finches, chickadees, titmice, juncos, wrens and sparrows vying for space at the feeders. There is a big, clunky blue jay who puts in an occasional appearance. He's such a clown, trying to fit onto the tiny perches. And, throughout the day, the various woodpeckers swoop in for their share.
It's getting pretty out there but it looks like it's not going to impede travel tomorrow. Yay!
