Hello,
I started this "journey" accidently I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis, and have been on Methotrexate and Arava for one and a half years.Methotrexate normally causes a weight GAIN,Not a loss. When I started losing weight I weighed 289 pounds.I have not got an appetite like I used to,but have tried to "change" what I did eat was healthy.I now only eat WHOLE GRAIN Bread (not whole wheat or white bread).I use diet or light Margarine, light mayo,I don't eat beef at all really,I eat whole fish fillets (yes,in light batter,)fresh veggies *mostly, broccoli, cooked fresh carrots, occasionally frozen vegetables, and a baked (small)potato occassionally, and sweet potatoes,I bake zucchini slices(brushed with EVEO,always SEA salt, pepper, dash garlic, parsley, and sprinkle lightly with Panko, bread crumbs, and bake with my frozen fish (I don't eat any minced fish or minced chicken products.)I have stopped eating ice cream, but choose frozen yogurt (1/2 cup) only.I eat a lot of canned solid white tuna, with chopped veggies(onions, green pepper,& celery)and use the "Skinny buns"or only 1 slice of WHOLE GRAIN bread)It is twice as filling as the old white or whole wheat, and not the bad things (fillers) that can harm us.(Flax seed, and Sunflower)and .or ( Flaxseed & Quinua).I even have the occassional snack wrap (crispy, with Ranch dressind. It is only 350 cal's and stick to lower cal foods for dinner to make up the few extra calories,( I also feel normal being able to have something from a fast food chain. I always get a glass of plain ICE water.I do drink 3-4 bottles of bottled water at home daily.I do not drink ANY carbonated beverages, I drink bottles of Zero Iced Teas
Every day breakfast is 1 cup Honey oats cereal, and 1 cup Silk Almond Light milk (40 cals )and 1 cup of frozen 100% (no sugar added,Orange juice.Occassionally I do have the low cal yogurt for breakfast).I have lost 105 lbs in the 1& 1/2 years.
