crabby Kat's Journal, 02 November 2013

Thanks for the comments on my last journal; it's good to have understanding people like you to share with.

Beau is staring at me over the top of my laptop screen (sitting on the ottoman). My partner called & is on the way home from visiting mom; while on the phone I went to the kitchen & grabbed a mini almond Snickers (from the Halloween candy that no one showed up for). I HAVE to get a handle on my emotions before I eat myself into my bigger clothes.

I'm not recording my weight, despite the red letters demanding I do from the top of the screen. I baked three kinds of cookies for my partner to give as a thank-you to some very helpful people at work. I volunteered. I made pumpkin pecan raisin cookies with candy corn or half of a candy corn pumpkin stuck in the top, decorated sugar cookies, and some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. There were many extras, and despite give away plenty to friends & my favorite Zumba instructor, I still ate too many. I even have some dough left in the refrigerator.

I'm still doing Zumba three or four times a week, though I hurt. Strained the long muscle along my spine, just a light strain. It was hurting while I was dancing, then a big guy backed into me as I ran back to my place after taking a drink of water. I had a miserable night of pain, but am now in love with my heating pad. Stretching, massage, and laying on a bumpy ball have got it mostly healed. My physical therapist gave me new stretches.

My foot is healing nicely, 8 months out from my plantar fascia rupture. I must live in each moment and not wait for the day when I'm all better. Waste of time and each moment spent breathing in and out is a gift.

The smell of the chicken mole I have in the crock pot is making me happy. I enjoyed an almond butter & pear sandwich on my fresh whole wheat flax bread for lunch; breakfast was oatmeal with almond butter and tropical apple sauce.

My hot shower was heaven this morning, and my stretches felt so good, relaxing the muscles that had tightened up as I slept. The foam roller is so good for that, too.

Gorgeous hummingbird out on the deck, sipping from the red flowers on my pineapple sage plant, and the still-blooming fuscia. The red-wing blackbirds that came to the seed & nut breakfast buffet this morning were gorgeous in their attempts to claim the choicest bits for there own (I crushed up some macadamias that we brought back from Maui, they were getting old despite refrigeration).

Life is good, my friends.

You will weigh in when you are ready. Freeze the candy or throw the damn stuff out :) I can almost smell the mole cooking too and your sandwich sounds fabulous! Glad your foot is healing well and you sound in good form overall :)
