I decided that I really wanted to start this week off strong. Even though I slept only about 4 hours last night (not on purpose) and was really tired after work, I still suited up and got on my treadmill. Here's the rub: my boyfriend is a smoker and he literally sat on the couch less than 5 feet from my treadmill, where I was breathing deeply and working hard, smoking a smelly cigar. Then, his buddy drops by and the two of them sit there 5 feet from me, both of them smoking, while I'm trying to walk on my treadmill. My sinus cavities started to hurt and it became difficult to breathe so I had to stop after 1/2 hour. I can't tell you how many times I've asked him not to smoke while I'm working out, but that's OK, I will fight fire with fire. I will try extra hard to get up early in the morning, and hit the treadmill LOUDLY before work, while he's trying to sleep in the next room. If he can't control his filthy habits, then I'll just have to work out when he's sleeping.
