Began last year at 233 lbs, and lost down to 216 before Holidays. Gained back to consistent ~222 lbs. Retired May 1st 2010, and determined to be active again (used to run about 45 miles a week in my 40s and 50s).
Finally, signed up with a personal trainer my wife was using at XSport, Tom. He stresses all aspects of fitness, and after a couple of hours discussion with me, said we would first work on balance and cardio fitness, then strength. He had me begin to journal my food intake, and I have begun, being totally honest. I began to lose weight immediately, even though Tom said to be concerned with inches, not weight. Its working.
