We had a wonderful time in Sedona on Saturday. My Mom and I went to the gym at the resort, and that was very cool! I broke down and had a few coctails as the kids decided to stay in Phx for school activities.

I'm sorry I havent posted much lately, but when I finish with this lengthy post, I hope you understand:)

My weight has remained steady for way too long. I did the breaking of the diet on Sunday, so far, no go. Maybe within another day or two..

I learned on Saturday that my little brothers three years in South Korea, even in dealing with a hostile North Korea and several months in the field in full gear - was considered "Light Duty". He is now an E-7 with 10 years of service, Army Communications, He was informed he will likely be stationed for a year in Afganistan. To any of my FS friends who cry with me on the 4th of July and / or who have friends and family in military service, my heart goes out to you.

I have to vent a bit more.

Saturday, I got up early and took the kids to school to work on their Veterans Day Parade float. I have always stongly encouraged extracurricular activities for both of my children. Athletics, music, drama, etc. I love the activities the school has to keep them occupied, have written reviews for Greatschools.com, recommended the school and bragged Newsweek 2008 named it one of the top six in the state. I do truly love the school. Because I choose to bring my kids to this school, I deal with early practices and there is no bus, I drive them and although an expensive pain in the a##, I committed to do this for my kids.

Now, my son is 14, and the only Freshman on the Highschool Drum Line. As such, it was required that he play at the schools opening Basketball Season Midnight Madness Event in which I had to bring him to school at 10 PM on SUNDAY night, and pick him up at 12:30 AM on Monday Morning. Beyond that, the kids were able to miss the first 3 classes on Monday if they participated... This said, my 15 year old decided to go.

Now in Arizona, this means that there are roughly 400 teenagers (1/2 of which are new drivers with less than 1 - 2 years driving experience) on a school night. / work night for me and arrived home at approx 1 AM, approximately less than 1 hour before the bars close!!

Now tell me, what does this teach our future workforce, that it's okay to stay out and close the bar because your boss is going excuse you 3 hours of work?? I have yet to meet this boss:) !

And tell me what a hypocrite I would be if I told my son, no, he gets straight A's, is dedicated to activities and made a committment to the band that he could not go to a mandatory event, and let the marching band down by being short the 5 drums he has strapped to his chest!!

So, once I calmed down and really thought about it, I sent an e-mail to the four Directors and Superintendant of the school. I didn't yell or threaten, or stomp my feet, but very professionally, clamly and susinctly stated let them know I thought their Activities Committee had made an error in judgement and requested they reconsider in the future planning of the event. If not the time of the event, at least the day....

I did get a response back, I still am not happy with, but I'll keep it to myself unless you want to know..

Between the news of my brother, the school keeping my kids out until 1 AM on Monday morning in the intrest of Basketball Season, the response I recieved from the school, Flu Shot yesterday, Election and Blood Donation today, my mood is terrible!!

Tonight, I feel physically ill, but too anxious to sleep and although not the right forum, I have realized, I'm too "GOP, Red, Republican, Conservative, etc." for my own sanity. I'm depressed and incredibly anxious tonight, I'll really dread the morning after (Nov. 5th)!

Cruisers, I should have stayed in Venice!!! (or at the very least in bed!!)

I'm sorry to be such a party poooper today.
Thank you all for your continued support!

Congratualtions to those of you who had reason to celebrate tonight (Jump for Joy and your weight loss!)

For any of you who had your Presidential hopes fade into a sea of US blue tonight, let's take our aggressions out on deck, Join me for a brisk walk in the cool night air!!

To all who voted today, no mater what the issue or party, thank you for taking the time to care and to have your voice heard. ((X's and O's)) !!

Have a better day! :) Chin up and smile. If it helps, the elections are all just about big money anyways. How can they say it's "over" when so many ballots were just mailed in YESTERDAY?! Sorry, but politics leaves a bad taste in my mouth, so move on to thinking about how much ya love them kids and how hard you work for them. :) It's all good. ;)
