I'm consuming about 996 or a thousand calories a day. I'm not really losing weight. I need to lose those pounds I gained during lockdown. I always heard it wasn't smart or safe to eat less than 1200 calories a day. although maybe I should go down to about 850 calories a day just for a few days, I'm possibly that might help drop some pounds.

This may sound weird, but my biggest losses usually come after a high calorie day that came after several low calorie days. So maybe it's time to nuture yourself.

How long have you been at it? It can take three weeks before the scale starts to move even at a significant deficit. What are your macros? Carbs can cause non-fat weight retention (holding energy and water in muscles). Fiber and protein can slow digestion. These are all good things. Are you tracking waist measurements or photos? You could still be making great progress against fat without significant weight loss. Unless your current weight is less than 100 pounds, you very likely don't need to go below 1000 cals.

If you’re gonna keep yourself on 900 cal you will loose your weight, but at the same moment your body will suffer because of the lack of nutrition components. Hair , skin and nails gonna suffer first. Moreover by the tome you’ll decide to go back to your normal range of calories it’s a risk to gain even more. The healthiest and safer way - find a formula , count your normal calories intake and make minus 20% of it. It’s never less than 1200 cal. So your body can function normally! Good luck! Be careful!

Thanks I've been keeping at trying to do about 21% protein have been getting plenty of fiber, I'm trying to cut back on my carbs. I would like them to be carbs almost equal with protein. I tried the 1000 calorie diet which is still lower than 1200. On a 1000 I did not lose weight. I started about 15 June to lose weight. The story of My success since June 15: I have lost three and gained two and lost one since then.

Secretly, I haven't actually stayed at nine hundred I had done that once before stay under 900. That was last year. And I lost 20 lb within 10 weeks I think. I kept that off until last 3 months. At the same time last year I was below my goal weight. Ah, slightly.

Kiralosswod I haven't been able to stay around 900 calories! I usually end the day with 1089 or 1100 plus. I can't lose any weight! I have been at it since about June 3. I lost 3lbs, tho they found their way back! I used to walk at least two miles 5 times a week. Now my walking is cut back to 1 mile 4 days a week. Bother!
