Things (people) of which, I have no control have had me frustrated lately. Weight wise, this has been suprisingly good for me.

I control what I can, I control what I put in my mouth. I can't keep people from calling my office or my home or provoking fights, but I control me...

When angry, I am unable to walk away in my home because I am followed and feel provoked.. so I "Storm" off.

This is helpful in the challenges because, I leave by foot, and because I'm angry, I walk long and fast....

On a better note!! I love to be happy and positive and this post definately needs an up side!

My 3-year live in boyfriend is always talking about what great shape he is in and how my exercise is sooo easy he could do anything I can do without a problem! So, the bet was made tonight, after dinner, when my son and I typically go to the gym, Rick made the comment that he could out walk me any day of the week. Confidently, I told him that he's on! I asked him what he wanted to do, 4 miles.. and hour.. what was the bet? He chose to go to the gym... know where I'm going with this?

Well, we all arived at the gym and Rick was presented a 3 day guest pass.... He took the stairs to cardio two at a time, laughing all the way.. I didn't say a word. I then introduced him to the elliptical :) I set the machine as I do for myself and both of us started. :)

I could see after about 2 minutes that this wasn't so easy for my poor guy, but he hung tough and I think was hoping the burn in his quads would go away..

I enjoyed the challenge he presented tonight, he hung the first time on an elliptical for 6 minutes!! I am proud of my muscle bound guy, and "Suprise, Suprise, Suprise!" after my 37 minutes, he came to me and told me how proud of me and shocked he was! :)

He admitted defeat and that is HUGE for him! I don't get a chance to win often, and in his defense, I cannot put 250 lbs off my chest like he can.

I journal this, as a reminder to myself. Women carry their strength in their legs, and have better endurance for both pain and longevity.

Know ourselves, our strengths and our weaknesses. Remind ourselves of our strengths and disallow someone else to call them weak.

That is awsome. Way to kick butt. LOL I am glad he was gracious about the defeat and you both learned a powerful lesson from the whole challenge. That is the whole point to life is to learn new things each day and take the lesson from our experiences. You are woman hear you ROAR!!!!!!!

That is so funny! I love the way you showed him how far you have come and how great your are doing. It's wonderful that he took part in your personal challenge to him!! Good going girl! As for walking away from a bad situation... I have a funny story... when ImLuuvd was a teenager she was so argumentative and difficult to get along with at times (I've discovered that ALL teenager's are like this..and go through a stage). We were in a face to face yelling match when I suddenly decided I had to get out of there. I picked up my purse and keys and started out the door, I told ImLuuvd that I was leaving to cool off for a while. Then ImLuuvd's face turned into an expression I can only describe as a "hurt puppy dog look" and her big eyes got bigger and sadder and she asked me where I was going.... then she asked if she could go with me! LOL I told her I was trying to get AWAY FROM HER..but she looked so sad and the situation seemed so silly that I took her with me. We went to a movie and did some girl shopping and it was one of the best times we ever spent together. It's amazing what stepping away and taking a deep breath can do to help a bad situation. You're wise to just want a "break".. step back and catch your breath and get emotions under control. And so much better to take a walk than eat a cookie!! GREAT GOING....
