FullaBella's Journal, 05 September 2013

I'm going to get around to a genuine weight & food journal some time today but I just have to share this conversation for all of the newlyweds and those about to marry ... this, my friends, is married life in Bellawood:

Me: Hon, I need you to call the bug guy tomorrow, please...
DH: Why? What for?

::::seriously... why do you think?::::

Me: Huh? What do you mean?
DH: Why do you need me to call the bug guy?

Me: Well, because the sink is clogging & draining slow.
DH: Well, you don't call the bug guy for that, you call a plumber. You call the bug guy if you're noticing too many bugs.

:::: One mississippi..... two mississippi ... three....:::

DH: Smart *ss!

And now you know why they make you repeat those vows in front of witnesses.

Thanks everyone - surely I'm not the only woman married to 'that guy' ... right? Posting that conversation reminded me of one we had early on in our marriage. Years ago my home office was at the very back of a really huge house we owned. DH had to actually come from the living room, through the dining room along side the kitchen and down the hall way to reach me. He did that and asked 'do we have any milk?' Of course, I knew we apparently didn't but he was trying to be coy instead of saying 'we're out of milk.. how could you let this happen'. I asked 'did you check the linen closet?' (outside my office) He actually walked over there, opened the door and stood there staring at the folded sheets for a two count before (laughingly) calling me a be-witch. Ahh... married life.

Yup, I have one of those that would walk through or past the kitchen, to the back of the house, to ask me if we have something that would normally be, yes, in the kitchen. I shall endeavor to find opportunities to be a smart-asp in the near future! (yeah like I need an excuse)

I have in the past heard someone refer to that, "well you wouldn't call THIS expert silly woman, you'd call THAT one" attitude from men that really ought to know better, in what I found to be a very amusing term. She called in "Mansplaining".
