OK. So I have my calories and portions down pat.
I just need to get back into the "real food" habit. I eat a lot of good stuff (eggs, salads, fruits, whole grains, yogurt) but I do these few things far too often:
1) replace a meal with a Snickers bar / cookie 2) snack on the cake my brother and dad have in the fridge at all times, since neither one of them gain weight if they try. I always count the calories, but I tend to think if I count it it's fine, and it's really not. Even if your calorie intake ends up good overall, the empty calories screw with your metabolism. 3) I need to quit drinking diet drinks if they have anything besides stevia (also known as truvia, etc). Aspartame makes me tired and splenda makes me hungry.
