I'm officially changing my diet to the 5:2 diet. I believe this is something I can incorporate into my lifestyle which will lead to me eating better and healthier for the rest of my life. I'm also incorporating meatless fast days in an attempt to eventually go full-on pescatarian, though I do enjoy pork and poultry so will allow myself the freedom to enjoy them on non-fasting days.

I will be interested in hearing how the 5:2 goes for you. I have considered that diet and thought that, if at some point I need to change things up for a change of pace and weight loss, I would give the 5:2 thing a go as well. Please update how it works for you!

Welcome to the 5:2 community Desifurn's. I came to this community a little while ago because of the freedom to basically follow any eating plan that you choose to with food type restrictions. I was in the Atkins Community but switched. I'm also in that process of trying to find something that works for me. Hope all goes well with you. To Woman Alive who commented on you journal. 5:2 does work. Even if you go crazy in your eating in your off days. What I've noticed is that if I go really crazy but still do my fastdays even if I gain the weight gain is minimal. When I do eat normally on off days the weight loss is more significant. So to see the best results the key is be sensible. My favorite diets are Atkins, The Alternate Day Diet, The 5:2 Diet, and now I'm exploring The 8 Hour Diet which I came across by mistake on You Tube which seems rather interesting. I think it maybe what I need to get some control on my updays on the 5:2 Diet.

I've been doing the 5:2 Challenge for 4 weeks already. I really enjoy it. I'm still a beginner, so I haven't followed it totally successfully yet, but hopefully by adopting it as the blueprint for my life change I should begin seeing even more results than I have. The 7 lbs I've lost in just a month is almost completely due to the 5:2 Challenge. Hopefully by getting my eating habits under control, and incorporating a bit more exercise, I'll be able to pass my first plateau and then some.
