Ruhu's Journal, 06 August 2013

Up early enough to be on with my coffee... just the way I like it! This truly is a great way to start the day! Today on the agenda is an early bike ride & then hanging out with the boys. Of course, there's groceries to be boughten, meals to be planned & prepared and my bookkeeping work, but I'll fit that in around spending time with them.

My biking trip to Italy is just a month away, so riding outdoors is my new priority... after the boys, of course. But, given their sleep schedules are a little different than mine, I can have that plus more done before they even wake up.

Also, have to get the car in for maintenance this a.m. I've had a few mishaps with our vehicles lately. First, I had someone open their car door into me as I was pulling into a parking spot (appt at body shop for that next week). Then, over the weekend, after driving DH's car, I thought I'd parked it but must have left it accidentally in neutral. It rolled backwards in our driveway into a tree! So, now have to get that vehicle (luckily its a company car, so goes on their insurance!) in for an estimate & repair!

But before I begin my bike riding, boy enjoying, dealing with multiple car issues day, I'll pray --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And, throughout this one day, and each one meal, moment, bite & emotion, I'll continue to pray, breathe, journal & express. Today, I'm grateful to have my boys home and my family together, for this life I love even with the minor car mishaps & inconveniences, for my health & our financial security, and all of you here on FS, my amazing & always supportive friends! xoxox

Just a quick drop in to say cheers and salut with the coffee. A bike ride vacation in Italy in a month - oh so jealous. I couldn't ride that far but I could certainly sit on a piazza and drink a glass of wine while I waited for you all to finish :) Have an awesome day, enjoy your boys muchly. Huge hugs. xxxxx

Awww Angel - you know I'm teasing but I just can't resist: sounds like you need to be on a bicycle w/all the vehicle mishaps, LOL. Between you and Heather I'm wanting a bike more and more but I'd probably be a hazard on wheels ... maybe a stationery once the weather turns cold.

Come join us, Bella! You can't be more of a hazard than any of us.

Is, enjoying the Italian fine wines will be a big part of the trip... wish you could meet me for a glass! Heather, its such a beautiful day in the northeast & was so nice being outside to enjoy it, but you know that well! Karen, glad you're enjoying your boys too -- I'm loving every minute... even now as I head back out for more groceries! LOL, Angel! I hadn't thought of that, but you are so right! You should be glad you don't drive in the same town as me! Thanks, my awesome friends! xoxox

Hi Ruth!! So happy you are enjoying time with your boys. Great job with the bike riding. I was just telling Steve how much I miss my bike. I used to ride everywhere. I had intended to get a bike when I moved here but with all the wild creatures here...lol I put it off. Sorry about all the car mishaps and hope the appointments go well.
