Well I haven't been on this website very long but I have been very successful since I joined at losing weight. At the end of the year 2007 I weighed 341 pounds, and I was sick for about 6 months or so. I had pneumonia and felt like I was going to die. I was in the hospital on Valentines day with pneumonia. I was so sick my husband had to call the paramedics because I couldn't hardly get out of bed and certainly couldn't drive. I was in such dire circumstances that I was unable to eat or drink anything with out coughing so bad that I threw up everything. When I got out of that hospital a week later I decided that I was sick of being sick and really needed to lose the weight so that I wasn't going to be bed bound one day. I started by cutting out soda and eating less fat. It started getting hot around April, I live in Florida, so I started eating ice like a mad woman. I buy a 20 pound bag of ice from Publix every week. I like Publix ice because its softer, and doesn't leave dirt in the bottom of the glass like some other ice that I have had in the past. Anyway back to my weightloss, I started using a little bit of weights a couple times a week but not on an extensive level. So by July I had lost 30 pounds but plateaued with no real exercise involved. I also was eating chocolate and drinking some soda, so I know that was another contributor to my plateau. I also wasn't really in the mood to diet, I was still eating fast food, although when I would go to Taco Bell I would get the Fresco style to cut most of the fat out. When Biggest Loser started again this season and then saw a show on super obese people it made me more determined to want to lose weight. While I was watching the show on super obese people I started exercising. The next day I started walking and then a day or so later I found fatsecret.com, that energized me even more. I have been blown away by this website, and have told friends and family about it. I don't know if I have ever been this determined to lose weight in my life. When I talked with my mother the other day, it wasn't a matter of if I lose the weight it was I'm losing this weight and am going to be completely and totally successful for a very long time with it.
