It might work as far as a placebo effect. Maybe try changing up your "diet" and consider altering your life long lifestyle - decide to be a healthier you and make small changes - maybe make one change a week until you feel more motivated. Try one new vegetable/week. Try one new recipe or one new exercise. Eliminate one thing from your diet. Don't go on a diet that you will eventually go off of or that leads you to "off diet" days. Make the decision to eat healthy every day regardless of your plan. You can do it, you just need to find something that motivates you. For me, I simply don't want to get diabetes and I want to fit into a size 6. The size 6 keeps me motivated daily and the risk for diabetes helps with my long term motivation.
