Aaaaaarrrgh!!! Well, good news and bad news: I can get into size 12 pants now, if they have a little spandex. ;) On the spur of the moment, a friend and I went shopping at the local thrift shop last night. I came home with a couple of 14s and a 12 in pants, and a good half-dozen cute blouses, some of them even in size medium. (I am the queen of the thrift-store junkies. Almost my entire wardrobe is from second-hand stores. Except for panties -- that's where I draw the line! :) ) My friend is skinny as a rail and very health-conscious, and she's been very supportive of my efforts to lose weight.



Bad news: We went out to eat after shopping, to a nearby Italian restaurant that my friend likes. I can see why -- the food was great! -- but IMHO Italian food is the most carb-a-licious on the planet. What was the special? Swordfish ravioli in tomato cream sauce with crunchy fried kale on top. So I ordered it, of course. Kale -- that's healthy, right? ;-)



Argh, delicious pasta. Argh, fabulous cream sauce. Argh, a basket of wonderful bread with olive oil for dipping. Argh, I ate 150% of my calorie allowance, and that's assuming I accounted for the food correctly.



So today and tomorrow I'll be watching my calories like a hawk!!!
