Last night I actually told DH that I am going to try to lose weight. Asked him not to buy any more ice cream! then this morning he suggested going to the Big Boy breakfast buffet - which seems kind of like a horrible thing to suggest the morning after your wife tells you she's going to try to lose weight, but whatever. I could have said no, but I feel like I am always saying no, so just went with it. Once there, I tried to be good and it still comes up to 1014 calories. :/ but lots of fruit, and really if I ate like I normally do at that thing (not that we go there that often) it would probably have been 2000 calories easy. so it could have been worse. And, it wasn't til almost lunchtime, so if I am good at dinner, I guess it will all be OK. Joined a challenge for the first time. hope it will help me be accountable to doing this every day.

Overall plan for the rest of the summer:
1. Riding my bike to the bus stop every day (unless torrential downpour)
2. Walking 10,000 steps per day via walking to farther bus stops, walking at lunch time, and taking the stairs. (may need to adjust that goal, but that's my starting point, getting a fitbit tomorrow)
3. Do leg strengthening exercises during July to prevent shin splints when I start C25K again
4. start C25K on August 1 - target first 5k on 10/5 or alternate on 11/9
5. In 2011, I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. My goal this summer is to lose 30 pounds between now and my birthday on 10/9. That's 2 pounds/week, may not be totally reasonable, but I'm aiming high! :)
