I think I am finally in the right mind set for this. I have tried several times over the last couple months, and now I finally feel the strength and motivation to stick with it. It has been 9 days so far on phase 1. My discouraging gain ended up being my favorite monthly visitor. So that explains that. I know I am not eating enough though. I just dont' have an appetite. I am trying to eat a healthy snack every couple hours and drinking lots of water and a glass of V8 here and there. But haven't had a 'meal' at dinner in a couple days. Once I get done cooking and get the kids fed, I just don't have an appetite to eat it. I have a pot of chili in the crock pot right now since we have our usual crazy afternoon schedule of practices and such at the rec. So atleast there will something yummy and filling to eat once we get home tonight. I have to keep good meals ready for my husband or he will get discouraged and cave on the diet. He has stuck with it thus far. My goal is to have him off his meds by spring. I know he can do it. I just really have to keep after him. Have a great day all!!

I hear ya! I can certainly tell you are motivated and I'm glad your gain was only because of the visitor. Smart thinking to cook the chili ahead of time. I've been cooking a pot just about every week and putting it in 1 cup servings for future lunches/dinners. It is nice to have it handy. Keep it up!
