Crap 2 1700 calorie days. Time to revamp eating! Someday I'll get this, lol.

EDIT: My son asked if what we were having for supper last night was healthy. No, not really. Pork chops and kraft mac n cheese. (Attempted sweet potato chips, but they weren't cut even and thick ones were taking forever to cook and I ended up scorching the thinner ones. With more time and patience I think they will be good.) His asking made me think about it. . I'm not sure where to start with healthy eating and what to eat because I wasn't taught to eat healthy. I don't want, 20 years from now, my kids to saw wish mom would have made us eat healthier. So I have to start now! I guess I need to experiment some and try new things myself to see what I like (or don't) and can share that with them.

I know what you mean! I went overboard last night too with the eating. Trying to do better today! And I know what you mean too about the family eating thing. My 3 year son is into eating crap as that is what he likes right now and what he gets at daycare. Hopefully one day we will be able to get him to eat what we are eating. Currently, all he likes is meat like chicken nuggets, hamburgers, sausages and ham. I don't think he likes any veggies right now! Maybe the odd cucumber slice! Next time with the sweet potato fries, try nuking them first in the microwave for a few minutes and then finishing up in the oven. Good luck!

Mine dont eat healthy at day care either, but do eat a few veggies. My 4 yr ol daughter went through the meat only phase too! I will have to try that with the sweet potato chips. I do that when I bake white potatoes.

I try to do healthier, but my hubby battles with me on it along with the kids. But, I keep fruit in the house and the kids have one snack a day that's fruit and their evening snack can then be 1 serving of anything they want, and sometimes they choose the fruit again, so I'm making some progress. I've started trying to make a veggie with every meal, and figure even if it's the same veggie at least they are getting it in. I did my sweet potatoes like fries and they turned out okay. They were more mushy than fries, but I like them. My kids won't eat them at all though. I'm still trying to figure out how to get those veggies in too. If you find a good trick you'll have to share!

That is making progress. I've been keeping a lot of fruit in the house and few chips or junk, so that if they want a snack, there's just fruit to have. I was doing really good making meal plans and having a vegetable with some meat, but that kind of flew out the window the last few weeks, so my goal is to get back to that. If I come up with any tricks I will let you know!
