So 42hours into my 60-hour fast, I see an article on Zero (fast tracking app) about the affects of long term fasting (48hrs+) on covid19.
Don’t get me wrong - I am not a doomsday person, but prefer to be wary. In short - your body starts to increase cortisol levels after about 48hours of fasting. This, not only, has a negative effect on your immune system but makes it more susceptible to viruses 🦠
I am bummed, because I feel that 60 hours are inches away from my fingertips, and I can easily succeed in this goal. But I suppose I would rather postpone the health and weight loss benefits of long term fasting for now until we have more science behind fasting and covid19.
