So 42hours into my 60-hour fast, I see an article on Zero (fast tracking app) about the affects of long term fasting (48hrs+) on covid19.

Don’t get me wrong - I am not a doomsday person, but prefer to be wary.
In short - your body starts to increase cortisol levels after about 48hours of fasting. This, not only, has a negative effect on your immune system but makes it more susceptible to viruses 🦠

I am bummed, because I feel that 60 hours are inches away from my fingertips, and I can easily succeed in this goal. But I suppose I would rather postpone the health and weight loss benefits of long term fasting for now until we have more science behind fasting and covid19.

Stay safe everyone!

I’ve started my weekly 48hr fast today, for the past 4 weeks I have done about 5 48 hr fasts. Don’t see the need to go longer. I have done a 7 day fast last year November and that was a learning experience lol. It slowed down my digestive system dramatically. If you are trying to heal something I would only suggest long extended fasts once every year or 6 months. In my opinion intermittent fasting is way better for you. The healing happens afterwards. When you feed your body the correct nutrients. While you are fasting you’re in a catabolic state and it’s not healthy to be in that state for long. Well done on your fast. Hope you have a healthy refeed 💖💪🏼
