ericam16's Journal, 11 May 2013

I'm a little frustrated. For the past two weeks I have been walking every morning 3 to 4 miles plus at home I work out for 30 mins, yet I have been bouncing back and forth between 259 and 261 lbs. I feel like I've been doing so much better with food, but I have not been vigilant about recording my calories. I will start recording it all today and my exercise too. That has to be why I'm not losing...I guess I probably haven't been as careful as I thought with food.

You have to remember to record everything that passes through your lips, and don't forget about the liquids - 8oz of fruit juice can be 150 calories! Like Jillian Michaels' says, "you can eat your way through any amount of exercise." I know I have been guilty of it before... just because I worked out for 35 minutes doesn't mean I can have two donuts...

I know if I'm not recording everything I would miss calories here and there and think I was doing much better than I was. Today I've put in all my food and for as little as I have eaten until dinner I would have thought my calories were less. It's easy to go over your RDI and not even know it. Try to record everything you eat for at least a week or two and be honest with yourself. If you are going over what you think you should be at for RDI then at least you'll know and you can adjust. But, keep up your exercising that is good for you whether you are at a stand still with your weight or not. Good luck!!

I realized food I thought wasn't high in calories is, and little bits here and there really add up. I will keep recording at least for a couple weeks so I stay within my RDI.

You might want to try cutting down on processed foods. I'm not sure if the calorie count they put on their packages are correct.

I'll try that...I really do eat a lot of processed stuff.

Download Cardio Trainer if you have an android phone and let it record your walks to see how accurate you are on the length of your walks. It will also give you an close idea of calories burned.
