redwinelover's Journal, 02 September 2010

I was checking yesterday's journal entry, see if I missed any comments (klannoye...yeah, I DID miss you!) and in case Junebug doesn't check, I've copied her sweet comment here:

I'm going with Klannoye on this...that makes me a new 20. Haha. I'm sure I'm going to pay for that comment.

Junebug...or should we call you Youngbug?! Or...well, other not as nice names? LOL... Just teasing. I was once 30 something. And believe me, it actually DOES seem like yesterday. I know people have said this through the ages, but time really does fly and as many times as I was told that, I still didn't seem to live in the moment. Can't go back...only forward, so I'm vowing to try to live each moment, appreciate it for what it is- the good, the bad, the ugly... and HOPEFULLY...LEARN from it all! Oh, I think I'm gonna copy this for today's journal! :) You know... droplets of wisdom from the elderly and all... :)

Okay...and actually - I'm just stalling here. I just did the Fit Test for Insanity. You do it at the start and after two weeks, and then again after three weeks and then two and then the final two weeks. So this was my third fit test and I'm a bit disappointed. I think I had myself freaked out because you do the fit test AND the first workout on the same day. The fit test doesn't take long, but you put out maximum effort for each exercise and do as many as you can in 60 seconds. Wow, doesn't sound so difficult as I sit on my butt and type it, but believe me, it takes A LOT out of you. (excuses, excuses). I burned about 180 calories doing that and a lot of my Insanity workouts only burn 280 - 350 calories, so not a huge difference considering I STILL HAVE MY WORKOUT ahead of me! Yikes. See? Freaked myself out here... Not to bore anyone further who may be reading this, but I'm going to post my results here for my own benefit, starting with the first two Fit Test results (in parenthesis) and today's results:

Switch Kicks (110) (128) 126 :(
Power Jacks (39) (60) 60
Power Knees (68) (86) 92
Power Jumps (29) (44) 58
Globe Jumps (5) (11) 11
Suicide Jumps (12) (14) 13 :(
Pushup Jacks (19) (25) 35
Low Plank Oblique (25) (38) 41

Great improvement from first test to second, no so much from second to third test. But well...

So I'm taking a break before I start the next workout and figured I'd catch up here. My brother will be here on Sat. and I'm so looking forward to that! I'll have to watch the food/drink calories, though. And we're having a bit of a party on Sunday evening - guess I SHOULD tell my husband about it :D It's mostly the kids and their friends, though, but I usually have a good time with them - a great bunch of people. Actually, the hardest part will be doing my workouts, I think, although he's a smoker, I can always do my workout when he's outside with his coffee in the morning, catching up on stuff on his laptop...that should work.

It was SO nice to go outside this morning at 7:00am and it was NOT HOT! It was beautiful, sunny, blue skies, and maybe 78 degrees! Lovely...heading into the time of year I most appreciate. I LOVE Spring, but after the heat and humidity and oppressiveness of the summer here, I really APPRECIATE the coming of Fall. And I'm SO looking forward to hiking again soon! And I want to go camping. I'm going to see if my daughter wants to go next weekend - it's still a little warm up there, even, but maybe... Anyway...if the mornings are going to keep being nice, I ought to get up and walk first thing, get the blood pumping. Then maybe I'd actually get to my workouts before NOON rolls around!

Okay...SERIOUSLY??? I'm expected to be able to do that SIX DAYS A WEEK?? OMG. I think I'm dying here. I sure hope I don't hear from someone out there doing this Insanity workout who thinks I'm exaggerating! Holy cow, that is one KILLER workout. And I sucked at it! I mean, I probably did 60 - 70% of what they did. But when I think back, I think I might have felt the same way on the first day of this, too. I'm surprised they have you do the fit test AND the first workout on the same day. I have the bodybugg, right? And I set it to count how many calories I burn for the workouts, so I set it before the fit test and didn't reset it for the workout. The second the workout was over, I glanced at my watch...666 See?? I TOLD you this workout was evil. Now that I can breath and have started feeling like I may actually live to talk about it, I'm at 685. A lot more calories burned in a workout than I have in a LONG time. Oh boy. IF (and I'm seriously wondering if it's possible for me)I make it through the next four weeks of this, I KNOW my body will look different! (yeah...laid out on a slab) Well, glad it's done...better ice the various body parts that are sore...

Somehow I knew I'd pay for that comment. Don't be so hard on yourself. The fact that you do it is awesome in itself! I hope you get to go camping soon...I have a camping weekend planned with my hubby and some friends in October. Can't wait! Just keep doing what you're doing! Stay positive, chin up!

After my first fit test I went down in a I think two categories and was bummed. You can't expect to go up everywhere, I don't think. I have told Shaun T that I have hated him quite a few times during these workouts. My hubby told me he was or is a dancer, but I wonder if he is Satan those workouts are evil. Sometimes during them I just want to lay on the floor and die not literally lol. I definitely do not think you are exaggerating either. These workouts aren't for the faint at heart, they suck.

I think you still did awesome. You make a huge jump like you said from your first to second set!! Want to come workout for me? Move my arms and legs? I bet that'd be an insanity workout, :D Miss you lots but I'm so glad to see you're losing and so freakin' close to your goal. I can't believe it! (In a good way)

You are so amazing and so inspiring! You make me want to tape up my stress fractured foot so I can get back out there and exercise again.

OKAY I am sure hoping the condition your body is IN and the end, is NOT a slab!!! Funny One....lol Your a little ugh about your test, BUT do NOT....power knees-power jumps...UP?!?! SO if anything I would say the knees MUST be getting stronger?? right!?!?! Thats a positive. And camping next weekend? already....Ummm have to check my schedule.....he he he. You know, I feel the same with age....WHY did I live in the moment in my 20's and 30's.....Truth is? I don't think YOU know how when your that age....so despite little wrinkles ( little sounds so cute doesn't it...chaaa) and such, it is almost one of the GOOD that comes with age. At least that is what I TRY and convince myself!!! lmao!!! AND thinking.....have you asked.....MAYBE your brother would like to JOIN you in the work out???? ha. okay.....im glad YOU are happy with your cooler weather....I- not so much....BUT yea i guess NOW I can wear my new jeans.... yea!
