Whoo-hooo! Day 34 of Insanity and a DAY OF REST. Awww...no Shaun T to kick my butt... So, I did Slim in 6 and a little housework and will probably call it good. Cause tomorrow??? He's gonna kick some serious butt. Tomorrow is the Fit Test, followed by the first workout - Max Interval Circuit. It's the "Max" part that is scaring the crap out of me. Hope I live to talk about it!

Had a good calorie day...low for me, needed it big time. I'll try to make today low, as well.

I bought my daughter another full length mirror and it hasn't made it up to her room yet. It's in the room I work out in and I really get it why gyms have mirrors all over the place. It really ISN'T vanity (although one might never guess that by some of the people in some gyms), but it's all about having proper form. So that's kind of cool and I might get a second one to keep in there. What made me feel good? Aside from seeing my lunges are nice and deep :), I noticed some really awesome upper arm and shoulder muscles while doing push ups! Oh boy...hope it doesn't sound as vain as I fear...just that it's pretty cool to practically watch your body change in front of your own eyes. And I'm lovin' my muscles!

Hungry and need to shower... hope everyone has a great day! I'm SO looking forward to the weather changing soon. I really miss hiking! You can feel the change in the air...it's coming...

Took an idea from ctlss' journal - Month of Aug. averaged 2400 calories burned per day (per bodybugg) and consumed on average 1459. I should have lost 8 1/3 lbs, which would put me at 130. Nope! Body still doesn't metabolize food/energy the way it should....I've only lost about 4 1/2 or 5 lbs. I'll still take it, though. And I'm blaming ctlss and her gremlins - being of such a generous spirit that she is, not wanting to hoard anything to herself. Why, in fact, I heard from a lot of others that she's passed these along to them, as well! What a giving heart! :)

RWL, alright!! You are doing so awesome! Today was day for me for Slim in 6, and it is getting a little easier. The lunges are still really hard for me as are the squats. The old knees just don't like to bend much. I am feeling better about it though, and I can sure feel it i all the muscle groups. I probably will not be moving up any time soon, but that's okay. I am doing pretty good for a 200 pound, 51 year old woman, who has never followed an exercise routine before! So I will take what I can get, and know that everyday that I do this get me closer to being fit! You are such a great inspiration to me!! Everytime that I read what you are doing it makes me want to do more. Have a great evening!!

Awww...ctlss...thanks for saying that! And hey, we might be 51, but what's the saying? 50 is the new 40? I don't know about you, but I sure don't feel like what I thought 51 would feel like. I know this exercising will serve us both well for the future. Being fit, or getting fit, makes me feel YOUNG. Believe me, I NEVER thought I'd be able to maintain the workouts (and increase, at least as far as intensity goes) for THIS long. I'm a long-standing exercise hater too! :D Well, except now I really ... pretty much LIKE it! I have obsessive tendencies anyway, so when I thought about it, I told myself why not an obsession with exercise? (can it be called an obsession, though, if you only do it after mental prep, or force myself to just "do it"? LOL).... I think it's really cool that you're really getting into the Slim in 6! It doesn't matter what speed you progress, just that you keep doing it and keep feeling like you're putting everything into it and not letting yourself just "go through the motions". I'm with you, the lunges and the squats are the hardest part as far as the knees go. But I will say, I like Debbie's instruction on how to do them and the reminders of where you knees should be in relation to the ankle. And to make sure the weight is on the front heel and the rear toe for lunges, and to keep the weight centered over the heels for the squats. That really helps keep things from over-stressing the knees too much. But still, they hurt! Wish I'd gotten into this YEARS ago! Better late than never and I'm glad we're on this journey together! (misery loves company! hahahaha...just kidding, I know neither one of us is miserable)

Sigh I couldn't walk or do my DVD exercises today because my doctor feels I have a stress fracture in my right foot and need to stay off my foot for a while. I really, really missed doing my exercises today. But my foot was killing me. I can still do my abdominal exercises though. I'll do those tomorrow. Then I'll do some swimming.

RWL! Awesome, so happy you are seeing some muscle tone! Be careful not to eat too little calories or else your body will go into starvation mode and hold onto what it has and you won't be able to burn calories as well. Let me know what you think about the Max Cardio. I can only imagine those considering I feel like laying on the floor half the time during the regular workouts!

Aww, Jill, you're doing this workout, too...you know it's impossible to do without seeing muscle definition! :) I doubt if I'm in any danger of not eating enough, though! I'm just trying to keep it under 1300 and seem to have a hard time doing that consistently :) Are you SURE you wanna know what I think about the Max part of this?? I'm so glad I'm not the only one that thinks this is one TOUGH workout... Have you regained your strength back from your ordeal? I hope so!

RWL, I agree that 51 does not feel like I thought it would!! And like you, I really wish that I had known the benefits (I did, but I ignored it) back when I was younger!! But regardless, I am going to continue and by the time that next spring rolls around, I am going to be in great shape!! I am hoping that I get a Wii fit for Christmas from my sons! And I am hoping that by Christmas I will be about another 20 pounds lighter!! Of course, that probably isn't going to happen, but a girl can dream!! And I have to say that I am so glad that we are on this journey together, also! It is so much better when we can share our triumphs and tribulations with someone else!!!!!

Hi RWL, just checking in, see you are still exercising and I'm not - LOL. That was supposed to be a joke, but the joke is on me. I see a note from Info, "Hi Info". Am off on vacation in one more week (not leaving, doing a remodel on one room) so maybe the extra "moving" will make me burn some calories, that I don't normally burn. We will see. Keep it up, am watching to see how you have done since the 29th. Good going!!!

Oh good, RWL when I saw your cals yesterday they were at 600! Oh, I am seeing a little muscle tone, but I would like to see more maybe. I am probably being a little selfish. I was congratulating you on yours!! This is one tough workout for sure, being a runner, I am not even this tired after doing a long run. Yes, I definitely want to know what you think of the Max part of this so I can be forewarned :) I will be in Recovery week almost by then.

I'm going with Klannoye on this...that makes me a new 20. Haha. I'm sure I'm going to pay for that comment.

Junebug...or should we call you Youngbug?! Or...well, other not as nice names? LOL... Just teasing. I was once 30 something. And believe me, it actually DOES seem like yesterday. I know people have said this through the ages, but time really does fly and as many times as I was told that, I still didn't seem to live in the moment. Can't go back...only forward, so I'm vowing to try to live each moment, appreciate it for what it is- the good, the bad, the ugly... and HOPEFULLY...LEARN from it all! Oh, I think I'm gonna copy this for today's journal! :) You know... droplets of wisdom from the elderly and all... :)
