Albright777's Journal, 12 August 2008

Well, the stress test went well yesterday. The funny thing was, they couldn't get my heart rate up fast enough. So they made me run at an 18% grade. LOL. The doctor's office called today and said that everything was normal. Which is good to know; but what is causing these palpitations? Right now, I am wearing an event monitor for 10 days. Everytime I have a palpitation, I have to push a button to record my heart activity for 30 seconds. I think I miss it everytime I have a palpitation though. I get nervous and push the button a little after the palp. I hope it is getting recorded. I don't want the cardiologist to think I am a quack. LOL.

It never hurts to be cautious where heart health is concerned. Stress tests are - well - stressful. Anxiety is something a lot of us cope with by EATING. That's one of my main battles - to find various methods and strategies for coping WITHOUT turning to food. I hope you are up and at 'em soon - without palpitations.

Thanks for the comment on my journal entry about the way that medical procedures create extra stressful circumstances. Everyone deals with these things differently. The best ways are not by pigging out and slouching on the couch!

I went through some similar experiences and they didn't figure mine out, but I was at the mercy of Turkish Hospitals and I finally figured I was living through them so Id wait till I got back to the states. Anyways, so glad there looking into it and just hang in there. I'm sure within the next 10 days youll be able to record one. Many different things can cause palpitations. I learned recently that too much of a B vitamin caused it for my husband AND me! We both had palpitations all day after trying a new B complex (we got rid of that one and went back to the one we knew!) We're thinking of ya! Hang in there pal! you'll get it recorded!
