I looked up what being a vegetarian and a vegan actually means. Vegan is like something i couldnt be just bc it's too strict (i like leather handbags...), but I was so disappointed bc those two did not include fish or shellfish. Shrimp, fish, crawfish has been a huge part of my upbringing/culture and I do not want that to go away at this time. So I read through this article at vegetarianvegan.com and it described a sub-category of vegetarians called a semi-vegetarian. I was so relieved! A semi-vegetarian is a "vegetarian who consumes dairy products, eggs, chicken, and fish but does not consume other animal flesh". I love andouille sausage in my gumbo but I wouldnt necessarily miss it. As long as shrimp and chicken are there Im good. Jambalaya is a different story...it would be hard to smell that and not shed a tear. I'd recover though lol.
Looking forward to this beautiful Sunday granted in my life by God. Grateful for feeling good and positve energy today and i'm excited to work on being a semi-vegetarian to see if it fits me like I think it would. :)

My eating has changed. I couldn't eat red meat when preggers (or much for that matter). It has got worse over the years and now I find I can't stand the smell of fresh meat/chicken/fish and look of it. I can sometimes cook minced meats if I do it straight away. I can eat abit of mince and if other meat is very tender like in a stew.
I am allergic to shellfish but can eat normal fish. I have gone semi-vegetarian and now eat alot of lentil type foods, unfortunately at this stage I am still am not up to cooking so buy pre-made foods from the supermarket. They have a great range of fresh vegan/vegetarian foods like lentil burgers, soy schnitzels, etc. I do love eggs. I couldn't go vegan, like you say too strict. In a few days I will make myself a lentil burger I think will some Burgen grain bread, a relish and lettuce...
Have a lovely sabbath
