well then why do you put yourself I such a state of fear?

I didn’t want to deprive myself too much during Christmas. That’s why.

so don't weigh. you can tell by your clothes if you are making progress. Then you Will want to get on the scale, just to satisfy your self

I’m back to eating well, so I’m probably going to wait a few days to weigh. I don’t know why my post has gotten such a rude response from you both. I figured a lot of people were feeling the same way I was, that’s why I posted. We all need encouragement, not judgement. Happy New year 🎊

Rudeness was not the intention. However the projection makes it seem so. Happy holidays

I started not to weigh after the holidays. But, the scale is what gets me back ontrack and keeps me there. I should have weighed during the holidays. I porbably would not have gained as much weight as I did.

Excuse my misspelled words in the previous post.

sweetgeorgia- i don't think that was rude at all. 🤷🏻‍♀️Sally elliott- this is the millionth post on FS about people feeling bad for overdoing it and not wanting to weigh in. My response has been to weigh in and get back to it. That isn't meant to be rude in any way shape or form- so please don't take it as such. I hope you enjoyed yourself at least. No reason to beat yourself up over what damage has been done. The sooner you get back to business, the better.

Gotta do it like a Bandaid, rip it off, and do it quickly. Get the pain out of the way.

I waited a few days to weigh and I don't think that there is anything wrong with it. This is what works for me. What is important is to get back to normal. It is almost inevitable for us to gain a few pounds over the holidays and the weight is higher depending on the starting weight. As far as Yogagnosis I find her rude. She came to this site looking quite thin and telling us all that she would lose 30 or 35 pounds. I don't know what planet she is on but many of us don't need her support!!

Thanks, Ireland and David’s princess. I just found their comments to be rude and unnecessary, but maybe they didn’t even mean it like that, idk. “So don’t weigh then.”, “So why did you put yourself in that position?”...sounds to me like they were being snarky, which is not what I needed and frankly, uncalled for. It was just meant as a lighthearted post because I felt like a lot of people could relate to what I was feeling, that is all. I don’t post a lot, but when I do, I usually get a lot of words of encouragement, and those were not. I did go ahead and weigh today and I only gained about a pound, so I’m pretty happy about that. Now back to the grind! Happy New Year! 🥳🎊

Sharper image, I definitely weight myself too often, but it’s hard for me not to! I could never just go by how my clothes feel and not get on the scale. I personally need to see that number. But to each their own! Happy New Year! 🥳🎉

That one pound gain is great Sally! We all have to do what feels right for us and we should either encourage people on this site or refrain from commenting if we can't. I can see that you have been doing very well with your weight loss and I congratulate you. Have a happy new year and more success in the coming year!

Sally- I gain a pound when I go to the gym and eat in a deficit sometimes- it just happens! You'll hear people say weight loss isn't linear and it's true. I think Sweet Georgia was just saying you don't have to weigh if you don't want to. I think she was being supportive. Others on here get condescending and it can be irritating. I try to not comment if it isn't nice to say- but I have difficulty not telling someone to eat a dick if they irritate me- not gonna lie. Anyhow- I think many are not only relating to your post but would kill to have only gained 1 pound. I gained and I thought I was keeping things in check for the most part. I did better than any holiday season I can remember as an adult- though- so that's something for which I'm proud. Good for you, too!

Thank you! ❤️❤️ Btw, David’s princess, I see that you started out at almost 250 and are now in the 180’s! That’s amazing! I can’t wait to get below that 200 mark. That will be the most amazing feeling for me because I’ve been well over 200 for the past 10 years! Have a great day! 😁

@Sally Elliott, sorry if you took that the wrong way. It was by not means meant to be rude or offensive. Allot of folks don't even have a scale. They can tell by the way their clothes fit if they are losing weight. Again sorry for the comment.

Sally...highest was 296. I've averaged 235-255 for the last 15 years and I felt the same way. Getting under 200 was monumental for me. I can't believe it still often times. You'll get there and it's going to feel every bit as good as you're anticipating! 💕👍🏼

Thanks, Sweet Georgia! ❤️ I appreciate that. I obviously took it the wrong way, so I’m sorry too! Hope you have a Happy new year! 🥳☺️

David’s princess, how long did it take you to get from 250 to 186? How many calories do you eat a day? How often do you exercise and what exercises do you do? Sorry, I’m just trying to get some tips from you because you’ve done so freakin well! I do try to walk as often as I can, but it’s hard for me to really exercise a lot because I have horrible lower back pain and a bad knee. I’m hoping they will feel better as I lose weight so I can exercise more.

I'm choosing not to weigh in until mid January. Even though I've been following my plan all along, there ARE/WERE different carb filled foods, dips, cake AND alcohol involved. In the past when I saw numbers go up after parties/weekend shenanigans etc, I usually felt ashamed and would rebel by splurging the whole rest of the week and so on. My mindset FINALLY is all about my health so I'm ever so focused now. I trust myself not to go back to those ways. Sally, I agree with DP. It's just a hiccup and fear not for being human :)
