It's been a hard week for me work-wise. Part of being a professor is having all this freedom to do your work whenever you want, which seems really great. But, the other part of it is having more work to do than is humanly possible --it's kind of a never-ending stream of things that ought to be getting done. So, with the new job and young kids and midterms and all that I've been up past 1 AM for three or four days in a row, getting up early, working all day, being with the kids in the evening, then staying up late again. I'm eating well, but otherwise my habits are not so healthy.
I am aware that this is the kind of lifestyle that caused me to gain all my weight in the first place, so I'm being very careful about what I eat and am still walking or riding my bike to work most days. But, that's not a long-term solution. I know that something's gotta give if I want to stay healthy/fit.
Sorry for the rant. I suppose it's an explanation of why I've been vacant from the site for a while. I know I'll get my act together soon, just have to set some priorities and figure out how to manage my time more effectively (which is another never-ending task). Wish me luck. :)
