GwendieM's Journal, 06 March 2013

I am beginning a diet today and my goal is to greatly reduce the amount of carbs that I take in. This will be very difficult as I regularly eat oatmeal in the a.m. and some sort of bread during the day. I eat whole wheat crackers most days. I drink coffee every morning with no sugar, so-whew on that one.
I plan on eating more protein and veggies and everyone expects me to become bitchy! Probably accurate from what I have experienced from those that have encountered this same endeavor.
The one thing I will not cut out for carbs is that 3 times a week, I will continue to put 1/4 cup granola in my plain yogurt with a spot of honey for flavor-better than the french vanilla that I have been eating with 1/2 cup of granola.
Today, I had scrambled eggs and grapes for breakfast with coffee and water. I drink coffee, tea, water, ginger ale, I don't drink other sodas or juices. Red wine, white wine, light beer-when I drink, will limit to 1 glass or bottle 3x a week.
I will definitely need support as the other 3 in the home will not be involved.
I plan on drinking 64 oz water daily. Should I count tea and coffee as water also?
Exercise includes walking with my dog in the early morning, some 20 minute low impact program. Also 15 minutes nightly of leg lifts and weight work out for upperbody with 5 and 8 lb. weights-also work with a Yoga ball. Would love to buy a Total Gym but this is out of the question for now.
